We started off dinner with chicken satay. Since it was a nippy fall day, I also ordered a bowl of Tom Kha soup.
My main entree was the Fresh Noodle Stir Fry with Tofu. They make the noodles on site. Yum!

From Cider Days at the Kansas Expocentre. It’s a perfect antidote for a hangover…but it punished my tummy in the long run.
From Local Burger. My first taste of Elk. Very hearty and a little gamey…but still tasty. According to the menu, the meat is from grass-fed elk out of the Rocky Hills Elk Ranch at Winchester, Kansas. I also adore the cleansing side of brown rice.
This is part of my effort to enjoy at least one local meal a week during September’s Eat Local Month. I had the Copperhead Pale Ale in the smaller glass and Mark had his Wheatstate Golden in the taller glass…all brewed at the Freestate Brewery in Lawrence.
