Download episode 3 of ‘In My Belly.’ Serve up this Vegas edition of my food podcast with a mimosa by the pool.
During my Las Vegas trip, I had plenty of options to fight the hangover blues. After waking up and checking the weather – I discovered it was 90 degrees by 8 a.m. I gave up on morning running plans and took care of my belly.
Inside Caesar’s Palace, I skipped the buffet and sampled international options for breakfast, from congee to crepes.
OK, going over some podcast liner notes when you’re rolling with big spenders, conference attendees and other Vegas characters.
- Download ‘In My Belly’ to your iPod: It’s easy and fun! Simply copy this url: http://feeds.feedburner.com/kvpinmybelly. Next, in iTunes, select ‘Advance’ and then ‘Subscribe to Podcast.’ Finally, paste that url link into the empty field.
- The hook-up on wifi: Hotel prices on online connection head into the double digits, daily. Caesar’s charged around $24 daily for in-room wifi connection. Over at the Wynn, I scored free wifi at the Terrace Point Cafe. I ordered coffee and a pastry at the bar and caught up on headlines with my Powerbook. Geeky heaven in Sin City! Hotel Chatter has a nice round-up on other free wifi locations.
- I am blessed to have family members living in Las Vegas. When I need a break from the Strip, we drive over to my cousin’s house for white rice, adobo, pansit and other yummy Filipino food. If I get a chance, I will blog about other international foods in this town. For now, go north on Las Vegas Blvd., then go west on Spring Mountain Road. After a few blocks – you will see a ton of Asian food stores and restaurants.
- It’s hot in Vegas, so make your own shade. My hubby and I found a shady spot, without lounge chairs, next to the Jupiter Pool at Caesar’s Palace. We ended up moving some lounge chairs to our covered area and everyone was quite cool with it. As long as you leave plenty of space for the cocktail waitresses to move thru and take drink orders, you’re golden without the sunburn.
