Brunch Love

Brunch is my favorite meal of the weekend. The menus offer a delightful combo of sweet and savory treats from breakfast and lunch.

I enjoyed eating my way thru San Diego’s brunch scene. I do my best to work off all those tasty calories with sculpt yoga classes.

I loved this twist on the classic Egg Benedict. Solace and the Midnight Lounge adds a beef cheek hash.

Cheddar & Chive Biscuits.

Another yummy staple for brunch menus: biscuits and gravy.

I like it when I can pair biscuit and gravy sliders with a bottomless mimosa bar, like at the Duck Dive in Pacific Beach.

Noodles and Broth

Chewy noodles and meaty broth. A hot bowl of ramen makes my belly happy.
Add pork belly and a soft-boiled egg. Heaven.

It’s a pleasure to look for the best ramen in any city.
This time: San Diego.

#kvpinmybelly Spicy Ramen at Yakyudori in #SanDiego. Tasty, chewy noodles. NOM!
I loved the spicy miso broth and the thick noodles at Yakyudori.

#kvpinmybelly Spicy Sesame Ramen at Tajima in #SanDiego Kearny Mesa. Subbed out ground pork for tofu. NOM! #ramenlove
The spicy sesame broth knocked me off my feet at Tajima. They were able to replace the ground pork with tofu when I needed to abstain from meat for Lent.

Smoked bacon and a hot dog paired nicely with noodles in my Underbelly Ramen bowl at Underbelly. I could have used another scoop of broth.

Rich, tender oxtail chunks made me melt in the Belly of the Beast bowl.

Watering Holes

Beer is like water in San Diego. We joined the never-ending brewery crawl. So far, I don’t think we’ve tasted a bad beer.

Bottom’s Up at the Best Coast Beer Festival.
#kvpinmybelly Bottom's Up! Best Coast Beer Fest at #SanDiego Embarcadero South. NOM! #beerfest
It was a pleasure to try beers from San Diego and around the state: from Firestone to Sudwerk. It reminded me of our first beer festival in Anderson Valley.…without the rain.

Haberdasher English IPA at Societe.
#kvpinmybelly TGIF! Haberdasher English IPA at @SocieteBrewing. Loving the puppies and brew! #beerheaven
We live about 10 minutes away from this watering hole. With a pack of cards and our Daisy, it has become our watering hole.
