Spaghetti alla Carbonara

It’s a pleasure to break the yolk and mix it up with noodles and pancetta.

I loved this Spaghetti alla Carbonara from Gamine.
Spaghetti alla Carbonara @ Gamine

They have a straight-forward French bistro menu. All dishes for our dinner, from the mussels to the beef tartare, tasted great.

It’s a cozy food spot on the border of San Francisco’s Marina and Cow Hollow neighborhoods. With candle light, good wine and great service, it was a romantic night out with my hubby.

Our server shook our hands as we left the restaurant, wishing us a pleasant evening.

So classy!

Eat Drink 2012

It has been a good year for food, drinks and memorable meals.

In Barcelona, I had the best meal of my young life at La Sarte.

Oysters at Lasarte

Back in the States, I had to work during the holidays. My hubby and I wanted to have a fancy Christmas meal after we heard about our friends and their lavish holiday office parties.
Pan Roasted Corvina @ Cliff House
We ended up at the Cliff House after my newsroom shift on Christmas Day. The kitchen plated this beautiful pan-roasted corvina and it tasted great!

New Year's Eve Dinner
My weekend fell on New Year’s Eve. I was thrilled to spend it with our San Francisco friends. Our last meal of the year involved a Portuguese chicken dish with vegetables. Inside the apartment, we popped champagne corks at midnight. We toasted 2013 with Sparkling AlbariƱo by Bonny Doon.

You can find the rest of my food and drink photos from 2012 on Flickr.
