Betina and Hans picked up Zachary pies for dinner. They got them half-baked and finished cooking them in their kitchen oven. Zachary’s boast of a deep-dish crust, like a Chicago pie. The tangy tomato sauce and fresh veggies make it a California pizza pie.

We found a new favorite spot for breakfast in Vacaville. Country Waffles reminded us of a cleaner, nicer Waffle House (in comparison to the one in Topeka). This is the porky skillet: scrambled eggs and potatoes plus cheese, bacon, ham and sausage.

This is one of the last pies from The Real Pie Co. Our morning reporter brought it back to the newsroom from his live shot. It closed-up last weekend. It’s baked with blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and cherries.

We tried out 2K Thai after another yoga class. We started off with these tasty angel wings. They fried-up the chicken and stuffed it with minced pork, veggies and noodles. Yum!

I ordered the fish tacos from Chevy’s. I asked them to hold the cheese — since that ends up getting in the way of the fresh fish flavor. They grilled up the salmon and I thought it tasted yummy! I remember ordering fish tacos from On the Border in Topeka. [...]
