Pastrami Melt, originally uploaded by queenkv.
Actually, I found this pastrami melt to be a bit blah. That’s surprising since I love Planet Sub. On my first day of work, my co-workers introduced me to this Kansas chain. That was almost two years ago.

Duck Pond Pinot Grigio, originally uploaded by queenkv.
Thanks to a relatively new Kansas law, we could take our leftover wine home. This is Duck Pond’s Pinot Grigio from New City Cafe. The waiter places the corked wine in a large baggie along with the receipt and seals it up.
All legal and it’s still tasty!

Limoncella Martini, originally uploaded by queenkv.
I started off with a Limoncella Martini. Back in Italy, I couldn’t get enough of this sweet liquor. It was lovely to drink in a flavor that reminds me of our European adventure.
Limoncella Sorbet, originally uploaded by queenkv.
The bartender at Juls recommended this limoncella sorbet. Yum!

The ribs still taste yummy after a few days in the fridge. I added some cheesy taco rice to the leftovers from the Kansas Black Expo.

More Ceviche, originally uploaded by queenkv.
My hubby discovered fresh tilapia in Dillons. Yeah! I love watching the translucent fish meat turn opaque in the mix of citrus juices, onions and tomatoes. It’s wonderful as a meal or a snack, wrapped up in a tortilla.
I served this ceviche up with guacamole and salsa paella.

Copper Oven Lovin!, originally uploaded by queenkv.
Soup on a hot summer day? Yes!
I love the savory ground beef in the soup. And the bacon & spinach quiche was a nice counterpoint the hearty soup.
